Singapore will host the first Asia-Oceania Anti-Doping Education Symposium 2023 (AOADES23), from 26 to 27 July at Paradox Singapore Merchant Court at Clarke Quay. The Minister for Culture, Community and Youth, and 2nd Minister for Law, Mr Edwin Tong, will grace the event as Guest of Honour on 26 July.

Jointly organised by the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY) and Southeast Asia Regional Anti-Doping Agency (SEARADO), in partnership with World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), the Symposium provides another international platform to advance the role of education in the protection of clean sport. The symposium aims to share and exchange best practices in enhancing anti-doping capability and capacity building in clean sport education, as well as, facilitate cooperation and collaboration amongst stakeholders in Asia-Oceania in developing and delivering clean sport education programmes.

Themed ‘International Standard for Education (ISE) in Action: Implementing Theory into Practice with a Purpose’, the key highlights of the Symposium include:

Expert sharing sessions by WADA, SEARADO, Drug Free Sport New Zealand (DFSNZ), International Paralympic Committee (IPC), International Testing Agency (ITA), Japan Anti-Doping Agency (JADA), Korea Anti-Doping Agency (KADA), Sports Integrity Australia (SIA), the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA); and United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)

Panel discussions on Anti-Doping Education, Athlete Anti-Doping Experience and Clean Sport promotion.

Practical and interactive hands-on sessions on Values Based Education activities and implementation of education programmes.

More than 100 participants comprising anti-doping technical experts, practitioners, sports officials, and International Federations’ and Regional Anti-Doping Organisation’s representatives are expected at the Symposium.
